Cheer up $hitHouse Poet. Collapsing housing demand results in lower prices. And as you know, dramatically lower and more affordably priced housing is positvely bullish and good for the economy.

Alas, Chelsea Clinton is leaving her $600K a year “contributor” job at NBC, which she in no way secured through corporate payola to her parents, who have amassed a fortune of $200-300 million since leaving office “dead broke” (according to Hillary), purely through their skills and knowledge - crony capitalism and quid pro quos for services rendered while in office played no part, I assure you. Truly, Chelsea’s puff pieces will be sorely missed among an American public starved for real news and real truth.

It’s nice to be born to “progressive” parents.

By the way, there are two types of “progressives.”

The most common type: The poseurs who want you to think they must have money, great sex, and privileges because they are “progressive.”

The other type is very uncommon but they are all rich, have all the sex they want, and all the privileges.

The common bond in all them is the narcissism and their lust for adoration/worship by as many people as possible.

Chelsea Clinton: I tried to care about money but couldn’t

BY LESLIE LARSON
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Published: Monday, June 23, 2014, 9:36 AM

Hillary Clinton insists she isn’t “well-off” and now daughter Chelsea, according to a recent interview, claims she couldn’t care less about money.

“I was curious if I could care about (money) on some fundamental level, and I couldn’t,” she told Fast Company in an interview that ran in the magazine’s May edition, explaining why she gave up lucrative gigs to join her family’s philanthropic foundation.

Comparing her experience to the average millennial, the 34-year-old former first daughter defended jumping around to different careers — from consulting to a hedge fund to academia to journalism — before finding her true calling working with her parents.

“It is frustrating, because who wants to grow up and follow their parents? I’ve tried really hard to care about things that were very different from my parents … it’s a funny thing to realize I feel called to this work, both as a daughter and also as someone who believes I have contributions to make,” she continued about her reluctant status as a boomerang kid.

The Clinton name likely opened doors for the political heiress, including an eye-popping $600,000 annual salary for an irregular stint as an NBC special correspondent, but Chelsea insists her work speaks for itself.

“I will just always work harder (than anybody else) and hopefully perform better,” said Clinton, who along with former banker husband Marc Mezvinsky, purchased a $10.5-million Gramercy Park apartment in 2013. “And hopefully, over time, I preempt and erase whatever expectations people have of me not having a good work ethic, or not being smart, or not being motivated.”

The comments, while not new, have nonetheless garnered a new round of attention in recent days after her mom and likely 2016 candidate, Hillary, was criticized for remarks suggesting she exited the White House “dead broke” and wasn’t “truly well off” despite millions of dollars in public speaking earnings.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-03-18/more-warren-buffett-hypocrisy-restructures-deal-avoid-400-million-taxes

Warren Buffett epitomizes everything that is wrong with the global economy, and the U.S. economy specifically. He is the consummate crony capitalist, a brilliant yet conniving oligarch who intentionally plays on the gullibility of the masses to portray himself as one thing, when in reality he is something else entirely.

He publicly talks about how rich people need to pay more in taxes, then turns around and pioneers new ways for his company Berkshire Hathaway to avoid hundreds of millions in taxes. He thinks that by going on television stuffing ice cream cones and hamburgers in his mouth and acting all grandfatherly that no one will notice who he is really is and the incredible hypocrisy of his actions.

I’ve pointed out “Uncle” Warren’s hypocrisy previously on these pages, most recently in my post from last March titled: Crony Capitalist “Uncle” Warren Buffett Drives Company Profits Using Derivatives.

While that was pretty blatant hypocrisy, Buffett’s latest elaborate scheme to avoid $400 million in capital gains taxes from the disposition of a large chunk of Berkshire Hathaway’s Washington Post stake (which was acquired in the 1970s for $11 million) absolutely takes the cake.

The Street published an excellent article on the topic. Their conclusion at the end of the piece says it all:

‘ Bottom Line: Warren Buffett is pioneering new ways to avoid capital gains tax, even as he is President Obama’s richest spokesperson for progressive income tax policy. ‘

Warren Buffet walks his talk. It’s “complicated” but Buffet says laws are needed to make taxes more progressive so people pay them and businesses are on the same level playing field.

Of course Buffet tries to minimize his taxes within the law because he is required to do this for his shareholders. He is competing with other businesses within the rules.

It’s like sports. Would one team not not take 3-pointers because they thought it sullied the game? Is this really that complicated?

Kind of reminds you of her mom’s “beginner’s luck” in the commodities futures market, doesn’t it?

Hillary Clinton Futures Trades Detailed
By Charles R. Babcock
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, May 27, 1994; Page A01

Hillary Rodham Clinton was allowed to order 10 cattle futures contracts, normally a $12,000 investment, in her first commodity trade in 1978 although she had only $1,000 in her account at the time, according to trade records the White House released yesterday.

The computerized records of her trades, which the White House obtained from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, show for the first time how she was able to turn her initial investment into $6,300 overnight. In about 10 months of trading, she made nearly $100,000, relying heavily on advice from her friend James B. Blair, an experienced futures trader.

The new records also raise the possibility that some of her profits — as much as $40,000 – came from larger trades ordered by someone else and then shifted to her account, Leo Melamed, a former chairman of the Merc who reviewed the records for the White House, said in an interview. He said the discrepancies in Clinton’s records also could have been caused by human error.

Even allocated trades would not necessarily have benefited Clinton, Melamed added. “I have no reason to change my original assessment. Mrs. Clinton violated no rules in the course of her transactions,” he said.

Lisa Caputo, Clinton’s spokeswoman, said the documents were released yesterday “to give as complete a picture as possible” of her trades. She said Clinton had never before seen them.

Blair, who urged Clinton to enter the high-risk futures market and ordered most of her trades, said in a recent interview that he “talked her into” her first futures trade in October 1978 before paperwork on her account was completed. It was liquidated quickly, he recalled, because “it was bigger than she wanted and required more money.”

Combine vinyl with a tube amp/pre-amp and good speakers, you have some great sound.

Russia’s Gazprom Neft to Sell Oil for Rubles, Yuan

12:16 27/08/2014

MOSCOW, August 27 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian oil company Gazprom Neft has agreed to export 80,000 tons of oil from Novoportovskoye field in the Arctic; it will accept payment in rubles, and will also deliver oil via the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline (ESPO), accepting payment in Chinese yuan for the transfers, the Russian business daily Kommersant reported Wednesday.

The Russian government and several of the country’s largest exporters have widely discussed the possibility of accepting payments in rubles for oil exports.

Last week, Russia began to ship oil from the Novoportovskoye field to Europe by sea. Two oil tankers are expected to arrive in Europe in September. According to Kommersant, the payment for these shipments will be received in rubles.

Gazprom Neft will not only accept payments in rubles; subsequent transfers via the ESPO may be paid for in yuan, the newspaper reported.

According to the newspaper, the change in currency was made because of the Western sanctions against Russia.

STATE DEPARTMENT: ISIS IS AL QAEDA

on BREITBART TV 27 Aug 2014

Wednesday on CNN, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Iraq and Iran Brett McGurk said, “ISIS is al Qaeda” because he said there are many groups that have morphed from each other now all “competing” for the “global jihad mantle.” And added the winner needed to hit harder than Sept. 11,2001, which poses an “extremely serious threat to us.”

“ISIS is al Qaeda,” McGurk said. “It’s al Qaeda and it’s a global jihadist organization. That’s where the thousands of foreign fighters coming into Syria and Iraq, they’re drawn to the global jihad. ISIS is reaching for the mantle of the global jihad. It is in competition with the leader of al Qaeda in Pakistan for that mantle. That’s what its leader Abu al-Baghdadi — that’s his goal. This is an extremely serious threat to us. Extremely serious threat to the region and something we have to begin to confront with our partners in the region.”

The training was to combat ASSAD whom was predicted to fall very easily
Of course that did not happen and instead these troops and equipment
became a very well trained part of Isis. These are still to this day being funded.

THE COVERT ORIGINS OF ISIS

August 29, 2014

SOURCE: SCG NEWS

The Islamic militant group ISIS, formerly known as Al-Qaeda in Iraq, and recently rebranded as the so called Islamic State, is the stuff of nightmares. They are ruthless, fanatical, killers, on a mission, and that mission is to wipe out anyone and everyone, from any religion or belief system and to impose Shari’ah law. The mass executions, beheadings and even crucifixions that they are committing as they work towards this goal are flaunted like badges of pride, video taped and uploaded for the whole world to see. This is the new face of evil.

Would it interest you to know who helped these psychopaths rise to power? Would it interest you to know who armed them, funded them and trained them? Would it interest you to know why?

This story makes more sense if we start in the middle, so we’ll begin with the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.

The Libyan revolution was Obama’s first major foreign intervention. It was portrayed as an extension of the Arab Spring, and NATO involvement was framed in humanitarian terms.

The fact that the CIA was actively working to help the Libyan rebels topple Gaddafi was no secret, nor were the airstrikes that Obama ordered against the Libyan government. However, little was said about the identity or the ideological leanings of these Libyan rebels. Not surprising, considering the fact that the leader of the Libyan rebels later admitted that his fighters included Al-Qaeda linked jihadists who fought against allied troops in Iraq.

These jihadist militants from Iraq were part of what national security analysts commonly referred to as Al-Qaeda in Iraq. Remember Al-Qaeda in Iraq was ISIS before it was rebranded.

With the assistance of U.S. and NATO intelligence and air support, the Libyan rebels captured Gaddafi and summarily executed him in the street, all the while enthusiastically chanting “Allah Akbar”. For many of those who had bought the official line about how these rebels were freedom fighters aiming to establish a liberal democracy in Libya, this was the beginning of the end of their illusions.

Prior to the U.S. and NATO backed intervention, Libya had the highest standard of living of any country in Africa. This according to the U.N.’s Human Development Index rankings for 2010.However in the years following the coup, the country descended into chaos, with extremism and violence running rampant. Libya is now widely regarded as failed state (of course those who were naive enough to buy into the propaganda leading up to the war get defensive when this is said).

Now after Gaddafi was overthrown, the Libyan armories were looted, and massive quantities of weapons were sent by the Libyan rebels to Syria. The weapons, which included anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles were smuggled into Syria through Turkey, a NATO ally. The times of Londonreported on the arrival of the shipment on September 14th, 2012. (Secondary confirmation in this NYT article) This was just three days after Ambassador Chris Stevens was killed by the attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi. Chris Stevens had served as the U.S. government’s liaison to the Libyan rebels since April of 2011.

While a great deal media attention has focused on the fact that the State Department did not provide adequate security at the consulate, and was slow to send assistance when the attack started, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Seymour Hersh released an article in April of 2014 which exposed a classified agreement between the CIA, Turkey and the Syrian rebels to create what was referred to as a “rat line”. The “rat line” was covert network used to channel weapons and ammunition from Libya, through southern turkey and across the Syrian border. Funding was provided by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

With Stevens dead any direct U.S. involvement in that arms shipment was buried, and Washington would continue to claim that they had not sent heavy weaponry into Syria.

It was at this time that jihadist fighters from Libya began flooding into Syria as well. And not just low level militants. Many were experienced commanders who had fought in multiple theaters.

The U.S. and its allies were now fully focused on taking down Assad’s government in Syria. As in Libya this regime change was to be framed in terms of human rights, and now overt support began to supplement the backdoor channels. The growing jihadist presence was swept under the rug and covered up.

However as the rebels gained strength, the reports of war crimes and atrocities that they were committing began to create a bit of a public relations problem for Washington. It then became standard policy to insist that U.S. support was only being given to what they referred to as”moderate” rebel forces.

This distinction, however, had no basis in reality.
—————-
By the way, this also explains why Washington then decided to target Russia next.
——————
Though Obama plays the role of a weak, indecisive, liberal president, and while pundits from the right have had a lot of fun with that image, this is just a facade. Some presidents, like George W. Bush, rely primarily on overt military aggression. Obama gets the same job done, but he prefers covert means. Not really surprising considering the fact that Zbigniew Brzezinski was his mentor.

Meanwhile, another volcanic eruption spews tons of volcanic debris into the atmosphere, negating all of the environmental improvements that we’ve (the whole world) have been able to muster.

“Papua New Guinea’s Rabaul caldera deposited ash and dust on local houses and fields, and amateur video showed an ominous scene. There’ve so far been no reports of injuries or deaths, but in 1994, an eruption destroyed the local town. Qantas has diverted some flights to avoid the area.”

It’s wonderful to have a clean environment but in the end, the sun and the earth itself control our climate. Environmental scientists and people like Al Gore/Tom Steyer are mainly concerned with lining their pockets with money.

Company In Which US Vice President Joe Biden’s Son Is Director Prepares To Drill Shale Gas In East Ukraine

Jul 26, 2014

Recall what we said earlier today: the proxy Ukraine war just like that in Syria preceding it, “is all about energy.”

Recall also the following chart showing Ukraine’s shale gas deposits, keeping in mind that the Dnieper-Donets basin which lies in the hotly contested eastern part of the nation and where as everyone knows by now a bloody civil war is raging, is the major oil and gas producing region of Ukraine accounting for approximately 90 per cent of Ukrainian production and according to EIA may have 42 tcf of shale gas resources technically recoverable from 197 tcf of risked shale gas in place./…/5393403 -

Finally, recall our story from May that Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, just joined the board of the largest Ukraine gas producer Burisma Holdings. From the press release:

R. Hunter Biden will be in charge of the Holdings’ legal unit and will provide support for the Company among international organizations. On his new appointment, he commented: “Burisma’s track record of innovations and industry leadership in the field of natural gas means that it can be a strong driver of a strong economy in Ukraine. As a new member of the Board, I believe that my assistance in consulting the Company on matters of transparency, corporate governance and responsibility, international expansion and other priorities will contribute to the economy and benefit the people of Ukraine.”

R. Hunter Biden is also a well-known public figure. He is chairman of the Board of the World Food Programme U.S.A., together with the world’s largest humanitarian organization, the United Nations World Food Programme. In this capacity he offers assistance to the poor in developing countries, fighting hunger and poverty, and helping to provide food and education to 300 million malnourished children around the world.

Company Background:

Burisma Holdings is a privately owned oil and gas company with assets in Ukraine and operating in the energy market since 2002. To date, the company holds a portfolio with permits to develop fields in the Dnieper-Donets, the Carpathian and the Azov-Kuban basins. In 2013, the daily gas production grew steadily and at year-end amounted to 11.6 thousand BOE (barrels of oil equivalent – incl. gas, condensate and crude oil), or 1.8 million m3 of natural gas. The company sells these volumes in the domestic market through traders, as well as directly to final consumers.

Now put it all together and what happens next should be rather clear.

Still confused? It’s very simple, really.

In a nutshell Ukraine (or rather its puppetmasters) has decided to let no crisis (staged or otherwise) or rather civil war, go to waste, and while the fighting rages all around, Ukrainian troopers are helping to install shale gas production equipment near the east Ukrainian town of Slavyansk, which was bombed and shelled for the three preceding months, according to local residents cited by Itar Tass. The reason for the scramble?

Under peacetime, the process was expected to take many years, during which Europe would be under the energy dictatorship of Putin. But throw in some civil war and few will notice let alone care that a process which was expected to take nearly a decade if not longer while dealing with broad popular objections to fracking, may instead be completed in months!

“Civilians protected by Ukrainian army are getting ready to install drilling rigs. More equipment is being brought in,” they said, adding that the military are encircling the future extraction area.

The people of Slavyansk, which is located in the heart of the Yzovka shale gas field, staged numerous protest actions in the past against its development. They even wanted to call in a referendum on that subject. Environmentalists are particularly concerned with the consequences of hydrofracing, a method used for shale gas extraction, because it implies the use of extremely toxic chemical agents which can poison not only subsoil waters but also the atmosphere. Experts claim that not a single country in the world has invented a method of utilization of harmful toxic agents in the process of development of shale gas deposits.

Countries like the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and France have given up plans to develop shale gas deposits in their territories.

Not only them but also all-important Germany, which two weeks ago announced it would halt shale-gas drilling for the next seven years over groundwater pollution concerns.

Which clearly makes Ukraine, potentially the last place with massive shale gas deposits and no drilling ban, quite valuable to those who want to develop a major source of shale gas, one which reduces Europe’s reliance on Russian gas even more, yet one whose future depends on one simple question: who controls East Ukraine?

Because what better way to accelerate “next steps” than to start drilling for gas in the middle of the Donetsk republic as a civil war is waging in all directions, and where public mood has shifted decidedly against the local “separatists” in the aftermath of the MH-17 tragedy.

The punchline: who will develop the gas field in conjunction with Shell (jointly owned by the Netherlands and the UK: the two countries that loathe Putin the most in the aftermath of the MH-17 disaster) which in May 2012 announced a tender for the right to develop the Yuzovka shale gas deposit?

Since I doubt they’d be doing all that work for Putin, do they have the means to keep him out?

I think God would want us to pollute the earth he made. It just makes sense.

Jesus (being God’s son) would support pollution because Jesus was all about making a buck at most any cost I think according to the Texas prosperity preachers.

If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day but it you create a world with no fish, that dude has to get off his a$$ and really work to eat.

Cops say gun, bat, ceramic pot involved in Lake Worth family brawl

By Jorge Milian
Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

A Lake Worth husband and wife were arrested Thursday after they allegedly attacked the woman’s father and his fiancee, according to an arrest report.

Nicole Schwandt, 29, is facing a charge of simple battery and is in jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. Tyson Schwandt, 34, is facing charges of burglary with assault and aggravated child abuse and remains in jail in lieu of $35,000 bail.

The aggravated child abuse charge is the result of Tyson Schwandt allegedly using a 5-year-old boy as a “shield” when Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene at the 1200 block of North D Street, the report said. The boy, who was not identified, was released unharmed.

The root of the dispute began because of a planned Labor Day party, the report said. When deputies arrived, they found the home in disarray with widespread damage.

According to the arrest report, Tyson Schwandt got into a physical altercation with his father-in-law, Nick Fuette, while he had a hand gun. Fuette’s fiancee, Cynthia Anne Hein, called 911 during the fight. As she was on the phone, Hein was hit over the head with a ceramic pot and had a handgun pointed at her face by Nicole Schwandt, the report said. Hein, 29, was also allegedly punched in the face and jabbed in the ribs with a baseball bat by Tyson Schwandt.

After Hein managed to get in the house, Tyson Schwandt “broke out every single window in the front of the apartment,” the report said.
Fuette, 46, told deputies he was forced to barricade himself in a bathroom after Tyson Schwandt came after him with an 18-inch knife, the report said.

The arrest report notes that no firearm was found in the home, but a box of 21 live rounds of .38-caliber ammunition was located in a plastic container.

Listening to Ric Edelman this morning on the radio. What a salesman. Keeping one step ahead of the average investor. I have to admit, he touched on something this morning. The employment payroll cuts since 2008 have been a godsend for corporations to back profit out of. I expect more, in fact, the secret sauce is to push for more outsourcing and cheap labor. How could it not be? I feel like the USA is hollowing itself out as it aspires to reach equilibrium with the rest of the world’s workers. Perhaps we are in stages of deflation and this is just the beginning?

Perhaps we are in stages of deflation and this is just the beginning ??

That is the elephant in the room at the FED…World markets are suggesting that it is already taking hold in many economies..When you see Germany with a negative interest rate that right there is a giant red warning sign…Thats why I think rate hikes for us is farther out than what is being suggested…Rate hikes here would send the rest of the world economies into turmoil..It would send some into a depression…If rate hikes don’t happen in 2015 then they are likely not going to happen until after the 2016 election…

It would do a world of good to know that any bond funds I hold will not get their NAVs cut any time soon with anticipated rate increases. Alas, this a housing bubble blog, so to tie it into the scheme of things, how much further can house prices go up in the absence of rate increases? Standard multiples of 2x to 3 X household income as a guide for house prices have been thrown out. Just do not see housing as a buy at this point unless the game plan all along to unload the houses on the gullible buying public. They did it a decade, oh yes they did. Strawberry picker with a $500,000 mortgage? The banks were not that ignorant of the math.

I don’t know. I think most this “debt” is a mirage - a carnival side-show. Why?

Well, if you make a system of fake money and then progress because if it, then why would the progress stop because there is trillions of fake money debt that can’t be paid?

Who is going to take away the progress because of funny numbers on a journal? The world owes the debt to itself. So what? I owe me a dollar that I don’t have. So what?

I surmise a similar thing. Things exist already. I mean tangible properties and physical goods, etc. The question is, how many times over are those things leveraged? The US debt to China and other international creditors is feasible to pay off if a Manhattan Project type attitude was undertaken.

I’d really hate it if all my bond funds were declared null and void because all debt was reset to zero. However, maybe I could borrow a bunch of money then and fund a lifestyle abandoned with care of paying it back?

The UK’s Labor Party, a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of London banksters, turned a blind eye to crimes commited against British girls by Pakistani sex gangs because noting such crimes, much less doing something about them, would be politically incorrect. And the equally gutless Tories, also owned by the City of London, maintained a craven, cowardly silence despite being the so-called “opposition” party.

Michael Sam released by St. Louis Rams

Michael Sam’s NFL journey is temporarily on hold.

The St. Louis Rams released the seventh-round draft pick on Saturday, the team announced. The defensive end was one of the front office’s final cuts as the Rams trimmed their roster down to the 53-man limit ahead of Saturday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline.

Battista: Sam proves he belongs
Judy Battista says although Michael Sam didn’t make the Rams’ 53-man roster, his effort should be considered a victory. READ
“I want to thank the entire Rams organization and the city of St. Louis for giving me this tremendous opportunity and allowing me to show I can play at this level,” Sam tweeted Saturday. “I look forward to continuing to build on the progress I made here toward a long and successful career.”

We expect Sam to clear waivers and join the team’s practice squad after putting together a preseason body of work that saw him make a consistent impact in the box score.

Rams coach Jeff Fisher called Sam’s release a “football decision” and said Saturday that he shared the news with the rookie on Friday night.

“He said, ‘Yes, sir,’ and he said, ‘I understand,’” Fisher told reporters. “He said, ‘Thanks for the opportunity,’ and I said, ‘Michael, I’m looking forward to visiting with you tomorrow.’ He goes, ‘I am, too.’ That’s really all that was said.”

Fisher acknowledged that he was “pulling for” Sam after the rookie “did everything we asked him to do” and played the second most snaps on the defensive line behind fellow pass rusher Ethan Westbrooks.

The NFL’s first openly gay player led the Rams with six tackles in Thursday night’s loss to the Dolphins, but Sam earned lukewarm praise from Fisher after the defeat.
