I highly recommend the website Refugee Resettlement Watch:

https://refugeeresettlementwatch.wordpress.com/2009/12/17/somali-youths-randomly-attacking-and-robbing-people-in-lewiston-me/

Imagine you live in a quiet New England city or town, but can no longer take a walk by yourself for fear of getting attacked by Bantu youth.

Did everyone know that organizations like Catholic Charities get federal funding to the tune of billions of dollars and that they receive money to dump refugees in otherwise decent communities?:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_Charities_USA

They get paid per head to resettle “refugees” in the US. And that is why there is a Little Mogadishu in Minnesota.

Kind of odd that “progressives” (grrr- that word!) would seek to lower the age of consent, considering that raising the age of consent was a progressive (grrr) goal, and that the age of consent is generally higher in blue states than in rural red states (marrying ‘em young being a conservative tradition). Throw in the fact that in those progressive, liberal (double grr) colleges and universities you nearly have to sign a dozen consent forms to have sex with someone who is legally an adult, and one might say that’s there’s no logical connection between “progressivism” (grr) and lowered age of consent whatsoever.

If one were to consider facts instead of reacting to dog whistles.

These “charity” organizations get billions from the taxpayer via the fed. They get paid per head to bring in refugees and migrants, they resettle (dump is more like it) them in formerly pleasant communities and then leave these communities to struggle with the fallout, because they move on to the next cattle call.

Defund Planned Parenthood? Gimme a break. Defund these bogus organizations that are really government contractors masquerading as charities.

In order to raise the fed funds rate evidently the fed needs to sell treasuries and take dollars out of the reserves and so called federal funds.
The fed funds rate is the interbank rate of interest that banks use to borrow from each other to meet reserve requirements.

How can the FED really sell treasuries when basically they need to buy to make up for lackluster demand in the market?

Why is the FED so hesitant to sell treasuries?

Comment by Professor Bear
2015-09-21 06:27:20

It seems a little weird when you realize that the Fed and the Treasury are effectively two different arms of the same federal government financial system. Imagine your right arm selling baseball cards to your left arm; it wouldn’t really amount to much of a sale, would it?

The real meaning of one federal agency buying or selling debt issued by another seems confusing, but perhaps this just reflects my general ignorance regarding macroeconomic principles.

The Fed, a private banking cartel, should not be regarded as an arm of the “federal government” system. It serves only the corrupt and venal Oligopoly that installed it back in 1913. “The Creature from Jekyll Island” should be required reading for every American high school student - it would let them know, early on, “It’s a big club and you ain’t in it.”

Texas high school football players say coach told them to hit referee

Published September 19, 2015
Associated Press

DALLAS – A Texas high school football coach directed two players to strike a referee during a game because of missed calls that had hurt the team, the players claimed Friday during a national broadcast.

During an appearance on ABC’s “Good Morning, America,” Michael Moreno and Victor Rojas also repeated earlier claims that the ref had used racial slurs.

Video from the Sept. 4 game shows Rojas blindsiding Watts and Moreno diving on top of him. Watts was the umpire on the defensive side watching a play along the line of scrimmage.

Rojas alleged that Watts at one point told a Hispanic player to “speak English, this is America.” The soft-spoken Rojas said he couldn’t explain why he targeted Watts, only saying he was following instructions.

Moreno contends the ref used a racial slur directed at a black player. The teenager also said at the last moment he realized the gravity of what he was about to do and softened his blow on Watts.

“That’s not who I am,” he said. “Underneath the helmet and the pads, I’m really a great kid.”

Watts has denied using inappropriate language.

His attorney, New Jersey lawyer Alan Goldberger, told The Associated Press on Friday that the game video shows a crime was committed against Watts and now the perpetrators are blaming the victim for their actions.

“He didn’t say hurtful things to anybody and he certainly didn’t say racial epithets,” Goldberger said, adding that civil action is being considered.

Watts has officiated hundreds of football games over 14 years, but has stepped aside because he’s now under a doctor’s care for injuries inflicted by the players, Goldberger said.

“What it was, was football.”

Did you watch the video?

What it was, was assault and battery and those two boys should be charged along with their coach if what they say about him is true.
————————————————————–
Assault and Battery

Two separate offenses against the person that when used in one expression may be defined as any unlawful and unpermitted touching of another. Assault is an act that creates an apprehension in another of an imminent, harmful, or offensive contact. The act consists of a threat of harm accompanied by an apparent, present ability to carry out the threat. Battery is a harmful or offensive touching of another.

The main distinction between the two offenses is the existence or nonexistence of a touching or contact. While contact is an essential element of battery, there must be an absence of contact for assault. Sometimes assault is defined loosely to include battery.

Assault and battery are offenses in both criminal and Tort Law; therefore, they can give rise to criminal or civil liability. In Criminal Law, an assault may additionally be defined as any attempt to commit a battery.

At Common Law, both offenses were misdemeanors. As of the early 2000s, under virtually all criminal codes, they are either misdemeanors or felonies. They are characterized as felonious when accompanied by a criminal intent, such as an intent to kill, rob, or rape, or when they are committed with a dangerous weapon.

Intent

Intent is an essential element of both offenses. Generally, it is only necessary for the defendant to have an intent to do the act that causes the harm. In other words, the act must be done voluntarily. Although an intent to harm the victim is likely to exist, it is not a required element of either offense. There is an exception to this rule for the attempted battery type of criminal assault. If a defendant who commits this crime does not have an intent to harm the victim, the individual cannot be guilty of the offense.

Chinese president’s state visit is an opportunity to calm markets, U.S. official says
By Greg Robb

President Obama with Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2014.

Chinese President Xi Jinping could use his state visit to Washington next week to calm fears in markets and elsewhere about the health of his nation’s economy, a senior U.S. Treasury official said Friday.

The official spoke to reporters on condition of anonymity.

If Xi can make clear that China is going to stay on the path of reform, that would be reassuring to people who care about the country’s long-term health, the official said.

Conversely, any sense that Chinese government officials might be backing away from letting the market have more sway in the domestic economy would have negative long-term implications on growth in their economy, the official said.

A host of important strategic and economic issues will be tackled at the meeting next Friday between Xi and President Obama, the official said.

China’s economy is in transition from being reliant on heavy industry and exports to consumer-driven. This process is not always going to be smooth and the market will sometimes send important signals about the direction or health of the economy, the official said. Governments can’t intervene after every such signal, the official said.

The official said there was no concern about the Treasury market given China’s recent sale of U.S. Treasurys as part of its interventions in the currency market.

Turning to domestic matters, the official said the U.S. is a source of strength for the global economy and Congress must not sew anxiety in coming days and weeks by shutting down the government or not increasing the debt ceiling.

Yes, I have said this before. If the private sector raises the price of a need high enough, the government will eventually subsidize it.

It would be nice to not subsidize something, thus forcing the landlord, college, health insurer etc to lower prices or lose business. But we know it doesn’t work. Those business owners can survive without business longer than people can survive without college or a place to stay. And the private sector knows it, and takes advantage accordingly.

if you make concealed carry a national all or nothing, it makes banning concealed carry at the national level easier as well.

Legislation on these topics (and pretty much as much as possible) should be kept local/to the states. The only reason this should be done at a federal level is if it’s to be a constitutional amendment.

- Ben Carson says a Muslim can’t be president, despite the Constitution’s prohibition on religious “test” for higher office. Never has a smart man been so dumb.

- Trump goes full demagogue and won’t say Obama is not a Muslim

- War on the Pope! Vilifying JFK for his Catholic faith didn’t work in 1960, why do conservatives think it’ll work now?

That error is saying that the amount of data stored has exceeded the quota — either in total, or for the day (as far as I can tell).

I’m using sync’ed storage so you can browse on multiple machines and not lose your place (I read on my home computer in morning and at work during the day) so that works well. However, the amount of synced storage is far more constrained than just local.

I’m guessing the issue is the # of posts you are storing the comment count for. Have you modified the post history length setting? (defaults to 3 days). If not, try setting it to ‘2′ and see if that fixes things. When you change the setting it will automatically delete the older items.

I’ll have a look at changing the approach to avoid this issue.

I have received 4 separate notifications telling me if I don’t respond - two things are gonna happen - a visit from an agent of the CB and/or a threat of imprisonment.

Chime in if you will.

I just read a post over on Investment Research about a guy in WA who had a visit from a supposed agent to his girl friend’s place there - the thing is the agent has a name that is really suspect and the agent was from the “LA region” of the Census Bureau.

My reaction to all this is - Yeah right - this is a ruse or more of pinhead Obama’s creeps drifting about trying to collect data.
It is just really creepy to me.

VA Accused of Silencing Whistleblowers

“This is a pattern where whistleblowers who disclose wrongdoing often face trumped-up charges…”

by Sputnik | September 21, 2015

The White House is currently being pressed to look into Veteran’s Affairs eagerness to punish and silence whistleblowers, while failing to adequately discipline employees for endangering the health and safety of veterans.

For example, following a food services manager with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Philadelphia blowing the whistle on a fly infestation, he was reassigned to cleaning a morgue and they attempted to fire him for eating $5 worth of old sandwiches.

“This is a pattern where whistleblowers who disclose wrongdoing often face trumped-up charges but where employees who put vets’ health at risk or engage in misconduct that endangers vets are going unpunished,” Special Counsel Carolyn Lerner told the Washington Post. “The bottom line is, you can’t discipline whistleblowers for coming forward but not discipline those who have done wrong.”

A senate hearing on VA whistleblowers set to take place on Tuesday will feature testimonies from Lerner as well as several whistleblowers.

One of the whistleblowers set to speak is Brandon Coleman, a decorated veteran from the VA Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.

During the course of one week in January 2013, five suicidal veterans left their emergency room without receiving any help. When Coleman reported the alarming information to his supervisor, he was suspended from his job.

“The lack of accountability in these cases stands in stark contrast to disciplinary actions taken against VA whistleblowers,” Lerner said in a letter to the White House. “The VA has attempted to fire or suspend whistleblowers for minor indiscretions, and often for activity directly related to the employee’s whistleblowing. While OSC has worked with VA headquarters to rescind the disciplinary actions in these cases, the severity of the initial punishments chills other employees from stepping forward to report concerns.”

The VA told the Washington Post in a statement that they are committed to creating a work environment where employees feel safe sharing what they know, whether good or bad, without fear of reprisal.
